Hey everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. I had such a fun time with the blogfest last week. Reading everyone's posts, seeing the comments on my husband's--and seeing how excited he was by all of your kind responses. He kept checking the blog to see if there were any new comments all weekend. That was a lot of fun.
So, here's a great quote to start our week:
"It is better to fall short of a high mark than to reach a low one." - H. C. Payne
Isn't that great? So what high marks are you trying to reach this week... or month... or year?
But of course it would be EVEN BETTER to reach that high mark. That's my goal anyway. :-)
Happy Monday!

So true!!! My mark is finishing my revisions! *fingers crossed*
My high mark is out of my control, so the mark IN my control would be to finish the manuscript I'm working on, start the next one, complete revisions on two of them, polish a couple of first chapters for a contest and another ten pages for a class . . . My I have lots of marks, don't I? I'd better get off the internet and get to work!
I am trying to write 2K a day...every day. Eek
I'm pretty anxious to finish wip du jour, like by the end of the month or shortly after. Maybe too high of a mark? But I am the impatient (and thus driven)sort...
I'm a non-finisher, so my goal is to finish anything. Anything at all. But mostly, hopefully, my WIP.
Yes!! Words to live by! Sometimes I set goals that are a bit too ambitious, perhaps, but imagine reaching goals that others think are impossible? It CAN happen. Just takes a bit of faith sometimes. And if you don't reach them? Ah well, you've often made progress any way.
Thanks for the reminder, sweets.
I shall remember that quote if for some reason (such as an alien apocalypse) I don't reach my goal of finishing my draft this year. Even if I fall short of my high mark, but reaching for the high mark motivates me to get more done this year than I have the past 2 years, I'll consider that a huge accomplishment.
