Welcome 2011!

I'm baaaack! Did you miss me? I missed all of you. But I do have to admit, it was very nice to just unplug and enjoy Christmas and the New Year with my family. How was your break?

I'm always a little bit sad when the holidays are over, but then the New Year hits. SHH and I always sit down and write out all of our goals for the year, and it really helps me get excited for what's to come. We break it down into daily, weekly, monthly, and finally yearly (or "end of the year") goals. We often tape the list to our bathroom mirror so that we can see it multiple times a day to remind ourselves of what we need and hope to accomplish. Our goals encompass all aspects of our lives. It's always fun to look back at our previous list and see how far we've come or what we still need to work on.

So tell me, what are your goals for this year? Do you make an actual list, and if so, what do you do with it? I have a feeling 2011 is going to be an amazing year, and I can't wait to see what's in store!

That's a smart idea about taping it to the bathroom mirror. I love that you guys do all of this together, too.

Here's to a great new year!

I'm so excited for this year! I can't wait to get started on my goals (yes, a lot of them deal with writing). =)

I love how you plan out your goals, I think it's a must when trying to improve.

Happy New Year Sara!

It's so good to have you back! I have to write my goals down, too, and I get pretty specific as well. I even have a framed collage of my long-term goals. Yes, I'm a tad anal. I'm excited for your year, and I'm hoping your good fortune rubs off on me!

I usually put my goals in my journal (if I make any at all). That way, they're there for me to look at again, but they don't haunt me to the point that I feel like a failure if I lapse one day.

Welcome back--and yeah, I did miss you! I am a list writer and goal setter, so I do have mine and it was interesting to compare them to last years. I don't really look at the list I make Jan 1 until the next Jan 1 so it's a bit of a surprise to me what I thought my goals should be and what I actually accomplished.

You were missed. But the break was soooooo nice. Just to be human and noncomputery for a while. Nice to get back to it though. Have to admit I missed blog hopping.

Goals for this year...oh boy. Good luck on yours!

I really like the idea of taping the list! It is something that I definitely want to do with my goals. I have a ffew goals - finish edits, start querying, walk my pets every day, and finally read 110 books this year.

So good to see you around again! I think it's a wonderful idea to plan out your year like this. It's important to set goals, although I tend to set too high of goals for myself. So, this year I actually didn't write out my goals. I should though, and maybe make them realistic. It's a tough thing to do in this business--to know what's realistic, but I'll give it a shot. Plus, I have plenty of other non-writing goals I can set for myself, too. I know I'd like to spend more time focusing on my family.

I refuse to write anything down. That way, if I fail, it was just all in my head. Ha! But I think this year is going to be amazing!

I'm with you... I think 2011 is going to be a great year. Me, I don't have a list of goals this year, as they're pretty simple: spend more time with the people I love, and remember why I love writing.

Happy new year!
