You know what 200 means...

*note: well, when I checked my blog earlier on Tuesday, I had reached 200... but apparently someone decided to unfollow me. *sad face* Apparently my rambling answers about loving Benihana and desserts and lots and lots of books and movies was too much for someone. Now I'm down to 199. But, you know what? It's close enough. So...

It's time for a contest! Woohoo! Thank you all for caring enough about what I have to say to follow me and comment on my posts. It means more than you know. As a way to say "thank you" I am going to do a contest. The only thing I'm having trouble deciding is... what to give away?

So now is your chance to let me know. What would you--my lovely, wonderful, awesome readers--like to win? Please vote in the comments and I will announce the contest prizes and what to do to enter on Friday!

1. A package that includes a book (maybe two or three depending on which ones I get) and some chocolate or candy.

2. A package that includes a gift card to Barnes & Noble or Amazon or something like that, and some chocolate and candy.

3. A ten page critique of your manuscript.

Let me know which one sounds the most appealing to you (and if you have any requests, let me know!) and I will announce the actual contest on Friday.

Thank you again; all of your support and kindness has been astounding.

I'm gonna treat this like you're my mom at Christmas once I hit my teens. "Even though what you buy me is great, I'd rather buy my own"...so I choose #2! (lol, no sweat, they're all awesome choices!)

I choose number one or three!

And don't worry, maybe someone just deleted their account and that's how you lost a follower!

We'll have to track down this "unfollower"! :)

I would select option #2.

Believe it or not, I like all 3. Especially the first two.
Not sure if I will enter though, having already been a beneficiary of your generous contests! :) But I will definitely be cheering you on in your quest for 200!

Yeah!! I'm still trickling along getting closer to that magic number... :D I'm sure whatever you do will be appreciated. I love books myself. But then again, what writer doesn't???

I think all three of those options are great! I'm a bibliophile so I'd lean toward the books but I'd be as happy with any of them. =D

Congrats on a near 200!

Personally I'm sure you're being followed by more than 200 people. They're just not all making it official.

Those are three great prizes! What about letting the winner choose between them? If not . . . hmmm. One would be cool because it would be, you know, a surprise. But, I don't know. That 10 page critique would be great. Of course so would the gift card . . ,

Ack. Sorry. Not helpful.

Ta-da! Now it's 200!

Yay, thanks Ca.ll.y! :) Now I'm officially back to 200.

Hmm, ya'll aren't making this easy on me, are you?

You really can't go wrong with chocolate so I think that should be involved no matter the prize. I like the idea of getting books that maybe I wouldn't normally pick so Number 1 would be cool. Personally, I would love a critique but what if you thought it was horrible? But at least I would know, I guess. For sure include chocolate though.

Yay, congratulations on reaching 200 followers! I'd be happy with any of the prizes, although as an aspiring writer, I do prefer #3. :)

And, er, the "unfollower"... might have been me? I changed account, and unfollowed everybody on my old blogger account and then re-followed them using my new account last night. I'm so, so sorry!

I like option one and option two the best! I think you will get more people interested because lots of readers aren't writers. ;)

Congrats on 200!

Jennie Bailey said...

Wow - you have some GREAT choices! That makes it hard to choose. Chocolate is so very tempting, but I would love #3. Aubrey has a good point, though. Maybe you could let the winner pick between the prizes? As a writer, I'm happy with any of the three, though. So you can't ever go wrong with books or a gift card!

Whoever stopped following you is lame. They're really going to be missing out! You have such sage advice that they'll just be sorry not to get to read.

Congrats on reaching 200 -- twice!
What great prizes to choose from. You're so generous. If it were me, I'd love an honest critique of my writing.

You have two hundred again! YAY! (I'm only three people away now!!! SO exciting!)

These are all great prizes, any would be great incentive to participate!

Oh, 2 or 3 but mostly 3. I need all the help I can get with my manuscript. :)

And congrats on 200 followers~ I am telling all my friends about your blog. With your skill and talent, you'll be at 250 in no time.

Ohhhhh, super!! I like 2 and 3!! Congrats on reaching your milestone! But don't worry about that one! Mine goes up and down. It fluctuates. sometimes people close their accounts, too. so now worries! You're still awesome, and I love you :D

Well thought out options, I had to "hmmm..." for a while. I guess I vote for two, but I'd be happy to win any of them.

Stina said...

Congrats on reaching 200! Followers are like weight, it fluctuates all the time.

I'm not fussy. Are you opening it internationally? Some bloggers offer crits to anyone, and keep the prizes that have to shipped to US only.

Colene Murphy said...

I agree with a couple people who said to let the winner choose maybe? A critique WOULD be crazy neat prize...and chocolate...and books...No no no critique...ah this is hard..

Colene Murphy said...

OH! ANd we should track down this Unfollower! *angry face*

I adore books!

Happy 200 (its back up to 200!) though I have to say I'm with you, when you reach that hump and then someone takes it from you! JERKS!

Steena Holmes said...

Happy 200 ;) I love that you suggested chocolate but right now I'd go for a critique ;)

Wannabe Writer said...

I'm glad to have helped you hit 200! I like option number 3. Maybe with some chocolate thrown in to soften the blow? :)

Sara B. Larson said...

Emy - okay, if that's what happened, then no worries. I won't sick Colene on you just yet. ;) (Though I appreciate the offer Colene!) And if it really was someone who unfollowed me, I'm not really all that cut up about it. I was just embarrassed that I'd already drafted my "200 followers" post and then I didn't have 200 anymore! Thankfully, I got back there pretty soon after my post went up.

Thanks everyone for your input on the contest. So far it sounds like... yeah, um... Too many different opinions, although honestly it sounds like the critique might be edging ahead. (I haven't counted yet to make sure.) Anyway, you'll have to wait and see on Friday! :D

Sara B. Larson said...

Wait, should that have said "sic Colene"? Oh dear, I shouldn't post late at night when my brain is beginning to shut down. Anyway...

Carolina M. Valdez Schneider said...

Just wanted to say you're hilarious, and I absolutely adore you, especially your late at night ramblings. I love that you would lend me socks. And I'd totally wash them before giving them back. I mean, I'd think about it at least ;) hehe.

Well phooey on the person who UNfollowed you. How rude! (I had that happen to me this week too. I keep checking to see if they've reconsidered, but nope. My number stays the same. Sad.)

I vote for #1! I always like getting books from other people because they might pick something for me that I haven't read before, or didn't know about.

Whatever you choose is more than generous.

And CONGRATS on 200. :)
